Born April 12th,1982 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Riley Smith (son of Russ & Roxanne Smith, Brother of Raquel) grew up on the family horse farm in Marion Iowa.
By the
time this young cowboy was 16 he had won an AQHYA (American Quarter Horse Youth Association) World Chamionship Title. He then proceeded to serve as 1995-96 AQHYA Corresponding Vice President and 1996-97
AQHYA President. He also served as President, 1st Vice President, and State Delegate for the Iowa Junior QH Association. Riley was also a tri-sport varsity letter athlete in his former school Albernett
High and was selected for the All-Conference Basketball team, and won the 1996 Iowa High School Speech Contest.
He was discovered in a mall in his hometown and was urged by a local talent scout,
to fly to New York to compete at the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) convention. There Riley scored not only a Tommy Hilfiger modeling assignment, but signed with his current agent,
Abby Bluestone, at Innovative Artist. Turning down a college basketball scholarship, he stayed on in New York to model for Armani, Palzileri and Paco Sports.
Although his modeling career was
proving lucrative, Riley wanted to pursue his dream of being an actor, so he made another big change in direction and moved to Hollywood. Soon after his arrival Riley was cast in the TV series pilot
"Central High" and booked several international commercials. After starring in the Doug Liman, European short "Space Boy", he went on to work as host of "American Teen Video
Magazine."
In films he played the starring role of Michael Lamson in "Lovers Lane" and starred as Josh Harding in "Wild Grizzly" opposite Daniel Baldwin. Riley also
recently played the role of conniving, but strangely charming "Tyler Smith" on the highly acclaimed WB series "7th Heaven" and has also guest starred on NBC's series "Hang
Time," "One World" and Warner Brothers "Movie Stars".
He went on to film Disney's "Motocrossed" (2001) and played the hot love interest of Ashley Olsen, in Warner Bros., "New York Minute" (2004). More recent movies include "Spring Break Shark Attack" (2005) and "Barely legal" (2005) along with "Graduation" and "White Air" in 2006.
